Friendly Valley Shrine Club
The Friendly Valley Shrine Club consists of Nobles and their ladies, and widows and widowers of Osman Shrine. There is no geographically requirement, e.g., close proximity to the St. Croix Valley for members are from Rochester, St. Cloud, St. Paul, Eagan, Hastings, Hudson, WI and essentially from all areas where Osman Shriners reside.
The Friendly Valley Shrine Club, also known as FVSC, has it’s charter similar to that of Osman Shrine, in that it’s aim is to foster goodwill among the nobility and their ladies, provide support to our great philanthropic effort in support of children in need of health orthopedic, spinal injuries supplied by Shriner Children’s Hospitals and Clinics. Monies and gifts are donated to this great charitable cause.
FVSC’s membership meet once a month, typically on the 3rd Thursday of the month unless there is a conflict with activities scheduled by Osman Shrine, and other Shrine Clubs. We do go dark for the months of January through March and schedule our meetings/dinners from April through December. The venues are at local restaurants whereby we support local businesses. The meetings/dinners consists of a social hours, a short meeting, and dining.
The meetings/dinners provide an opportunity to socialize and to enjoy different culinary foods and libations (if one is so inclined). Our meetings/dinners typically begin at 6PM for an hour of social time, conduct a brief meeting and then imbibe in a meal ordered from the local restaurant’s menu.
During the summer, typically in either July or August, a club BBQ occurs where the members bring an appetizer, salad, dessert, or a side and the club provides the entrée prepared on a grill weather permitting.
In December we traditionally have our Christmas Party at Lake Elmo Inn and the club incurs the cost of the dessert. Also at that time, we collect the $20 dues for membership for the next year.
We encourage our Osman Shrine nobility to consider membership. We have a fun time!
